I have been busy busy busy.  With the combination of getting my student trial card and doing some things in court, taking the MPRE this past weekend, and a few trips home I have been non stop for pretty much the whole month of October.  So as I mentioned I was in court a few times.  I did a few default judgment prove ups in Collin COunty court.  If I remember correctly they were both car accidents, State Farm was trying to recover, both defendants were pro se and did not should so it was a simple show affidavits and proofs and get the judgments signed.  Although it was nothing to it was still pretty nerve racking.

The infamous AT&T case is now complete!  I prepared some deposition questions along with Jessica and went to the deposition of the AT&T driver, personally I feel he was pretrty well coached.  Anyway, mediation was two days later and after 6 hours with no break, we were able to come to an agreement which still had us paying some money but since they already had a default judgment on their counterclaim we figured we better cut our losses.  It was great experience to be able to actually participate in the mediation and not just sit there and watch everyone else do the work.

Besides those few events and 2 or 3 bench trials here or there I have been in the office for the most part.  Doing things like preparing affidavits to send to State Farm, requesting certified police reports, talking to plaintiffs and courts, sending discovery requests to defendants, things like that.  That's about it for now.
